Stretching Exercises
Stretching plays an important role in keeping muscles and joints flexible, which reduces your risk of injury. Stretching will also improve your overall flexibility and increase your range of motion.
The following is a ten-minute routine that will help your flexibility. Each exercise should be held for ten seconds.
General Stretches
- Tilt your head to the right and hold. Repeat, tilting to the left.
- Place your hands on your hips, bend to the right, and hold. You should feel the stretch along the side of your body. Repeat, bending to the left.
- Place your right hand on your left shoulder and your left hand on your right shoulder. Rotate your shoulders (not your hips) and hold the position.
- Place your right hand on your left elbow. Pull the elbow across your body and hold. Repeat with your left hand on your right elbow.
